Department for Promotion of Industry and Industrial Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I) and Government of India (GoI) have taken up a series of measures to simplify and rationalize the regulatory processes (registration and inspection processes) and introduction of information technology as enabler to make governance more efficient and effective. Gujarat is one of the leading states in the country for facilitating the above initiative through Ease of Doing Business. Under the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) initiative, Government of Gujarat has formally passed the Gujarat Single Window Clearance Act 2017 to further streamline the ecosystem around Ease of Doing Business. The Act aims to expedite processes for issuance of various licenses, clearances and certificates required for setting up a business and to provide an investor-friendly environment in the State. The Act has helped in increasing transparency, facilitate online applications and enhanced monitoring of applications.
Accordingly Investor Facilitation Portal(IFP) has been developed with the intention to facilitate the investors with a detailed description of the approvals required in starting of business in Gujarat. It also provides key details of the approvals/permission/clearances such as approval authority, application forms required, supporting document, fee and mode of payments, contact details, and timelines amongst others.
